I'm having trouble getting my sound and usb mouse to work. i'm using the 2.4.22 kernel. I had sound working with the 2.4.20 kernel but i can't boot that kernel with my board (somehow the gentoo install cd does ..). If i try to boot with the 2.4.20 it locks on the IDE controller part while booting. I turned on usb bus mouse support and turned on Logitech just like my other gentoo box but this nforce2 one wont work. Also i'm having trouble getting direct rendering working. Whats the dea this that? it wont work with XFree 4.3?

OK, well I got the alsa drivers working for the sound. so thats solved. but the biggest problem is still the mouse. I guess I could try to use thge ps/2 adapter ... I'll check back in later

ok, well The ps/2 adapter is in play and working... so all i have left for now is the direct rendering.
