Jumpdrive problems on USB2.0 hub

My USB Jumpdrive used to work perfectly on my Linux computer with the USB2.0 hub until I also plugged in a USB2.0 DVD burner onto the same hub. Now every time I try to mount my jumpdrive, the computer is unable to perform the mount process. If I mount using the GUI, it just opens up the dialog box without it making any progress. If I type a text command, it just never executes it.

Does anyone know workarounds with this? It's quite annoying.

Thanks,

Could they be using the same SCSI LUN?

have you tried
"max_scsi_luns=128"
in GRUB.

maybe unload the scsi/usb-storage modules between using the 2 devices?

I'm no expert though, just trying to help
