ivman/hal fail to mount my usb memory key

Basically, thats my problem. CD's are mounted just fine, they pop up where they are supposed to. However, ivman refuses to mount my usb devices. It just gives thousands of this message.
IvmConfigActions.c:42 (ivm_device_is_mountable) /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_usb_device_46d_c025_1800_-1_noserial_0 can't be mounted because it is not a block device
Needless to say, the usb key is definately a block device, and mounts find by itself.

The kded media manager also fails to start, and gives me about 40 messages at the start of each session, which is annoying enough by itself.
