Issues with pci-e esata card disconnecting drives.

Hi all,

I have a HP Micro server running Fedora and have a PCI-e esata card installed as well to add more drives via a port multiplier.

When i first installed it, the drive worked fine but for a long time now the drives seem to drop off from the system and i end up having to play with the cables / ports on the card to get it working again.

The chipset on the card is a sil 3132. Some time on Google comes back with some possible compatibility issues as some others were having problems.

Is anyone else able to give any advise and if it is the card, can anyone recommend one that will work?

It would need to be PCI-e and support port multiplier

Thanks
