Issue with RAID

Hey guys, sorry to ask this again but Iīm really stumped been working on this for days (indicated bald spots developing from pulling hair out :) )...
So Iīm running the latest slackware now, and for some reason I canīt get cfdisk or fdisk to recogonize the two 250 GB hard drives on my promise RAID controller, I mean it doesn even see the devices (in my case they should be hde and hdf) ... Just for kicks I tried to see if Red Hat enterprise linux would see the hard drives and for some reason Red Hatīs disk druid sees it, and has no trouble setting them up as a raid array but I want to use slackware and I havenīt seen a stand alone version of disk druid. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? Here is the lspci for the RAID controller if that helps...
