Is my HD gonna die?

I have moved last week and now I have some pretty bad problem with my main HD and I want some advice...
The HD is a Maxtor 60 Gig 7200 RPM, very new, only few months of use (someone know what warranty Maxtor are offering???)

First, sometime, the system hang for some seconds then everything come back to normal. During the hang, everything stop working, and the HD light show me a very intense HD activity (I use Rack for slaves HD, so it can only be the first master).

Second, I got several msg like these ones :
hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError }

hda: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
ide0: reset: success
hda: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
ide0: reset: success
hda: irq timeout: status=0xd0 { Busy }
ide0: reset: success
etc ...

Third, my HD performance are decreasing... Now hdparm -T /dev/hda give me an awful speed of 6.95MB/sec (instead of the 48MB/sec I was having before).

Any advice?
:cry:

Try re-seating the ide cable, check all the cables to make sure they havent been dislodged in the move. If the drive is making noises then I'd definitly start backing up and prepare to swap it out.

my HD is at agony...
I got the last chance msg (Bios saying: BACK UP YOUR DATA!!!) the hd will probably work no more now (how can I back up 60 gig in 1 night with only smaller HD? damn it!!) there's nothing much to do except hope I'll have the time to back up.

re on the warranty...
On most matrox hard drives, they'll have a warranty expired date on the front (I believe lower left hand corner?). That may not be correct with your hard drive though. As far as I know, Warranty lasts 2-3 years. one of the two numbers. Good luck anywho..
