IRIScan Mouse in Linux

Has anyone been able to use an IRIScan mouse (or the LG equivalent) on any flavor of Linux?

The device is a mouse that has a scan head on its underside which, when activated, permits you to move the mouse all around whatever you're trying to scan until you have the whole area you're interested in completely scanned.

The software seems to be available for only Windows and Mac, but this seems like something someone might have written some similar *nix app for.

Although I can see all sorts of issues that might arise from such a device, it also seems like it could be quite useful in certain circumstances.

It could be quite useful but I would assume the key is the software so unless the manufacture ported it to linux we are out of luck.
