Hi gurus, help really needed here.
I had no problems on redhat 8, but now, after installation of redhat 9 something strange happens.
I was able to install IRDA quite easily and it seems to be working (irdadump obviously communicates with the modem, lsmod command lists all necessary irda modules, K68 app for uploading of files to a phone works also). The only problem is pppd.
Code:
[root@marsla03 peers]# pppd call gprs
sending AT
Connect script failed
I thought there could be some misconfiguration in gprs-connect-chat script that is called to establish the connection so I tried to add few debug messages. Here is how it looks now:
Code:
exec chat \
TIMEOUT 5 \
ECHO ON \
ABORT '\nBUSY\r' \
ABORT '\nERROR\r' \
ABORT '\nNO ANSWER\r' \
ABORT '\nNO CARRIER\r' \
ABORT '\nNO DIALTONE\r' \
ABORT '\nRINGING\r\n\r\nRINGING\r' \
SAY "\nsending AT\n" \
'' \rAT \
TIMEOUT 12 \
SAY "Press CTRL-C to close the connection at any stage!" \
SAY "\ndefining PDP context...\n" \
SAY "\nsending ATH\n" \
OK ATH \
SAY "\nsending ATE1\n" \
OK ATE1 \
SAY "\nsending 'AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet","",0,0'\n" \
OK 'AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet","",0,0' \
SAY "\nsending ATD*99#\n" \
OK ATD*99# \
TIMEOUT 22 \
SAY "\nwaiting for connect...\n" \
CONNECT "" \
SAY "\nConnected." \
SAY "\nIf the following ppp negotiations fail,\n" \
SAY "try restarting the phone.\n"
As you see, the script will fail on first AT command.
Any ideas what could be wrong? It's communicating with /dev/ircomm0 device. Could the problem be here? How can I test if this device actually works? I tried minicom but I'm somehow unable to use it
Any help would be greately appreciated.
THANKS GURUS!
