iPod with FireWire (SuSE 9.1)

Hello,
I want to use an iPod with FireWire and Linux (SuSE 9.1 - Kernel 2.6.10).

Its really rare that I can mount my iPod. The most Times this error occours:

Feb 12 13:20:05 XP2100 kernel: sbp2: probe of 000a2700020cbccc-0 failed with error -16

I searched the web for information, but I cant find a solution to my problem. I hope someone of you can tell me how to make this work.

If it works, the devices (/dev/sda, /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2) were generated.

I already read that there is no problem while using USB ... but I don't have a cable for the iPod.

tia for any help

Oli

PS:
sorry for my bad english ... I hope everybody can understand my problem ... if you don't understand something or need additional Information please ask.
