ipod u pod

i was curious if anyone knew any projects that were going on to get Ipod working on linux machines? Has anyone ever used an Ipod on linux? Im thinking about getting one but would like to use my linux machine and not have to use a PC or Mac.

Yes it is possible, I use it via usb with gtkpod .

Also there is (semi) iTunes support under crossover office.
