Interface issue

Hey all

In one of the linux boxes that I have,
eth0 interface is not getting detected properly though lan connection is there in its port.I checked the cable but found no issues with it.
Even though I have connected the cable,when I issue
mii-tool command,it says

#mii-tool
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth0' failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
SIOCGMIIREG on eth1 failed: Input/output error
eth1: negotiated 100baseTx-FD, link ok

Can anyone plz tell me what could be the actual problem and how can this be resolved?

mii-tool is old an outdated, esp on gbit ports try ethtool.

[root@f11 ~]# mii-tool eth1
