I just bought an Acer TravelMate 8002 LCiB after reading good things about the TravelMate series and Linux support and reading about people getting all the hardware enabled.
Now, however, I'm having several problems.
1. /proc/cpuinfo displays cache size as 64KB instead of 2MB
2. None of the speedstep applications work. Looking around the output of dmesg I found this:
Code:
speedstep-centrino: found unsupported CPU with Enhanced SpeedStep: send /proc/cpuinfo to Jeremy Fitzhardinge <jeremy@goop.org>
This is annoying since the author of one of these programs noted that he had exactly the same processor as I.
3. ACPI doesn't work. ACPI works for Windows and ACPI seems to work for most similiar models from Acer. (Some problems with some Aspire models I understand, though.) So I'm using APM which really doesn't have as cool features.
Any effort to help will be greatly appreciated. Problem number 2 is the most significant one, though. I'll post any progress I have.
If you need some of my kernel options, just ask. I'm pretty sure I got them all right, though.
Thanks.
