Intel Pentium D and Linux

I am in the market for a new webserver and I am wondering if anyone has had a chance to try a Intel Pentium D on a Linux box? The processor I am looking at is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16819116213. And the motherboard I am looking at is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131552.

I plan on running Centos 4.x 64 bit, will this setup work with linux? I want to have zero problems. Thanks for your time.

I suggest AMD Athlon X2 processors because they use a lot less power, dissipates less heat, and are true 64-bit processors. Intel's only 64-bit processor is the Itanlium processor. Their Xeon and desktop processors that said they are 64-bit is using special software called EM64T to convert 64-bit to 32-bit.
