Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD / Calpella issues
I have had a helluva time with Fedora 12 on a new 64-bit Thinkpad T410 using the Intel i5 chipset + Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD (Calpella) video card. There are a number of issues -- resolution, font rendering, etc.
I have read the other posts here and on other boards, but here's my question:
I upgraded the kernel to the latest one from kernel.org -- 220.127.116.11. I also intstalled the xorg intel driver through yum. If I change my limited xorg.conf from vesa to intel, the screen goes dark on reboot. (I have to use the rescue disk to change back to vesa.) Font rendering is clearly better, though.
Do I need an additional step to ensure that the driver and the card recognize each other? It seems that I'm missing something that should have been addressed in the changes mentioned above. Or it could be that I'm SOL for the time being.
Thanks for any insight.
