Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

INTEL GIGABYTE GT PCI Card

Has anyone had any success in getting the Intel Gigabyte GT card working, all the support seems to be for the MT. I have tried Intel's drivers, but they do not seem to get the job done. It shows up as a device, but does not respond to modprobe, etc. And you cannot set it up using ifconfig, since it doesn't see it as a ethernet controller. I am running kernel 2.6.8.1-12 with mandrake 10.1

thanks
