Question Intel Extreme Graphics 2 and higher resolutions than 1024x768?

hi, i have hp laptop ( i am using mandrake 10.1 community linux distribution and i can't set higher resolutions than 1024x768, why? it must be some way to do this; i have 256mb of ram - 32 mb for graphic card. i have tried XFdrake but on higher resolutions the screen is not shown properly, like this graphic card or panel is not supporting the higer ones. plase someone tell me what to do to have higher resolutions on this graphic chipset.

sorry guys, i think that low class laptops like this one have poor panels that can't work on nothing bigger that 1024x768; this sucks.
