Question intel 865xx series chipset - bad ide controller

the ide controller on motherbords using that chipset seem to have a prob with linux and cd-writing, it can't clone cd's with securom, the copies just miss the securom part, i'we tried everything, if there is no hope geting real cd-copying done(for legal backups) then i need an advice on what ide controller to buy...
