Same Problem ....no Solution


hey there......just went through the thread....n realised my problem i have an 82845G intel graphic adapter.....n i'm getting miserable 16bit resolutions on fedora 7
i tried to update the diver from intel site
downloaded the .tar.gz file
extracted it(it has got an executable code install.sh)
and at the konsole did bash install.sh
got 2 options to install driver or to remove
selected to install
and then i got an error(while it was trying to gather os information) in sum 200 line tat == operator expected
FAILED TO COMPILE...NO COMPILER FOUND!
then
installation got aborted
now how can i rectify that......ny other source to update driver(i810)?????
plzzz help.....m stuck!!!

I have the same issue with Debian install on Dell Optiplex GX260.
Think I've narrowed it down to a BIOS issue, try updating the BIOS to A09 (GX260A09.EXE) from the dell site here: http://support.dell.com/support/down...89214&vercnt=7
