Intel's watchdog support iTCO_wdt - does this mean watchdog is not present?
I am using Debian Lenny with 2.6.26 kernel. I get following message on my Intel M (32 bit machine).
Code:
[ 7.008855] iTCO_vendor_support: vendor-support=0 OR Does it mean the watchdog is present but the module (iTCO_wdt) is not able to detect/configure it properly? The messages are rather confusing. First it says that: Code:
[ 7.096343] iTCO_wdt: failed to reset NO_REBOOT flag, reboot Code:
[ 7.096352] iTCO_wdt: No card detected here is my lspci output: Code:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 82852/82855 GM/GME/PM/GMV Processor to I/O Controller (rev 02) |
sorry for bumping this up......

Posts that have Zero replies get automatically bumped twice.. since you manually bumped this it's no longer a Zero reply post and will not get the second automatic bump.
There is also a "Zero Reply Threads" link in the quick links menu that people use to look at all the Zero reply threads.. since you bumped this it will not show up under that link anymore.. So basically I'm sayin you were better off NOT bumping your own thread.. watchdog can run in a purely software mode, so if it didn't detect watchdog hardware maybe that is what it is referring to ? That's a guess since I am not familiar with the watchdog curcuitry nor configuring the watchdog application. |
