installing USB optical mouse

Hello, I have problem with installing USB optical mouse from Logitech. I have done these steps:

- recompiled kernel with these options:
Code:
# CONFIG_INPUT_IFORCE_USB is not set
# USB support
CONFIG_USB=y
CONFIG_USB_DEBUG=y
CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y
CONFIG_USB_HID=y
CONFIG_USB_HIDINPUT=y
CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV=y

CONFIG_INPUT=y
CONFIG_INPUT_KEYBDEV=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_X=1024
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_Y=768
CONFIG_USB_HIDINPUT=y
- installed:
usbutils-0.11-i386-1
libusb-0.1.7-i386-1

- configured mouseconfig and now gpm runs with these params:
Code:
/usr/sbin/gpm -m /dev/mouse -t imps2
but my mouse doesn't work.
I tried to change link /dev/mouse to targets: /dev/usb/mouse[0-..] and /dev/input/mouse[0-..] but while loading, an error 'no such device' always occur. Only /dev/input/mice doesn't give this error

There is error in lsusb output:
Code:
# lsusb
Unknown line at line 1809
Duplicate HUT Usage Spec at line 2650
and full output from proc file:
Code:
/proc/bus/usb# cat drivers
         usbdevfs
         hub
 96-111: hiddev
         hid
after this I have hotplug installed.

Where my brain fault?

Did you edit your /etc/X11/XFConfig(-4) file at any stage?

I think you're also missing either usb_uchi, usb_ohci or usb_ehci. Btw, which kernel version are you using? Also, I noticed above that you've compiled all of these options straight into the kernel. If you don't have a specific reason for this it's usually better to use modules.
