Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Installing RHEL3 Error due to RAID only system

I am trying to install RHEL3 on a HP dl380. It's got an HP 6i SCSI RAID controller and a local CD, no non-raided HD. How can I install the system when the installer can't see the controller or drives?

I have an rpm of the drivers but when I go to "Add Device" during install it tells me to insert disk into /dev/hda. While looking into the settings I see that it sets the cdrom as hda. Problem is the drive is locked due to the installer using it and I can't put the rpm cd in the drive.

Also, I am unsure whether the installer supports hw drivers in rpm format.

Adding a "local disk" is not an available option.

Any suggestions would be great.
