Installing Linux on an X31
Hi, I just got an IBM ThinkPad X31. I want to install linux on it. It has no floppy drive and no cdrom drive. It does, however, have USB and FireWire (IEEE 1398). I have an external FireWire cd-drive, but I can't find a way to boot off of it to install linux. Does anyone know if it's possible to boot an X31 off a FireWire drive, or am I going to have to find a USB drive to use (I'm almost positive it can boot from one of those). I'd like to avoid having to do a net boot/install because my other Linux box is giving me some problems and I'm not sure what'll be necessary to get it working again.
