I know neither Canon nor Sane supports this (3200F) scanner under Linux.
Still, I believe I should be able to install it to my guest XP.
"lsusb" shows it and Virtualbox offers it to the guest.
Do you have any idea why it grays out spontaneously in the Devices tab of Virtualbox and XP fails to see it consistently?
(I use Ubuntu 9.04, if that matters).
(1) Might be interference from other USB devices. Any other USB devices being used by either OS?
(2) Ubuntu might be trying to open it as something. Tell it "Do Nothing" in the future with that type of device.
(3) You might need to physically plug and replug the device in after starting the guest. I don't know how to simulate that with a command.
