Try to upgrade your HP driver to the latest version. This is a symptom of an earlier version of HPLIP.

In the mean time try turning the printer off and on again between print jobs. If that works then the above recommendation will probably solve your problem.

i already did that, i downloaded the new version for hplip-2.8.12 and encounter the same problem. im just new to linux and i don't know if what i did is correct or maybe i miss along the way.

here's the steps of what i did.
1. downloaded the hplip-2.8.12 in my desktop
2. run the terminal, executing the command sh hplip-2.8.12
3. i reboot my computer then again in the terminal, execute command su -c"hp-setup"
4. i go to control center and added the printer
5. i did test to print a test page and it works but when i use the openoffice(write or calc), it doesnt work, the printer doesnt print but theres a pending job in the print manager.

i did not install anything except for the hplip-2.8.12(the same thing what i did with the hplip-2.8-10 version)

is there any packages that should i install aside from the hplip?

thanks

Did you either change directory path to where that file is, such as on your desktop, or you need to include the full directory path with the name of that file you want to install.? For example in your case with the file on your desktop; sh /home/user-name/Desktop hplip-2.8.12 , or change to that directory and run; sh hplip-2.8.12, as root user.
