Installation media problem

I have just built myself a new computer and on attempting to install linux ( i have done it many times) i get a new problem. i boot up the first disk (red hat 8) give it the keyboard type and then i get "What type of media contains the packages to be installed" my only choice is hard drive but it's on the cd drive (ide 1 master). Consequenly i'm stuck. Any ideas?
ps i'm using a gigabyte 8ipe 1000 pro board with a lite on atapi cd drive at ide 1 master. a dvd drive on ide 1 slave. 1 120gb serial ata on ide 3 and a 40gb hard drive on ide 0 master which is where i want to install red hat eventually.
Thanks
