Install REd Hat 9.0 on ICH5r Raid array
I am trying to install Red Hat 9.0 on a new computer. It has an ASUS P4P800 De luxe motherboard with the Intel 865PE chipset, and is configured for an on board Intel ICH5R Raid 0 controller over 2 SEagate 80Mb HDDs.
The installer cannot detect the Raid array at all, so installation is impossible. Intel's website says that using kernel 2.4.21-ac4 will solve this, but I do not know how to get this kernel into the installation CD from the start. Can anyone help please? |
Check this to see if it helps:

Thanks dsho002. I had found that page, but it requires separate EIDE and SATA disks, which I don't have. My computer has a single 2HDD SATA RAID 0 array. If I abandon the SATA array there's no installation problem, but no SATA.
Surely someone is going to support this as a mainstream chipset. I guess I'll just have to wait. |
