Install problems (SuSE 8.0 Pro)

Dear All,

Ok I am trying to install SuSE 8.0 Professional and am having problems from the start. The problem is is that when I boot from the CD my screen goes kind of funny. I can see at least 6 screens displaying the same information. I cannot therefore click on anything to continue with the install.

My system specs are as follows.

Athlon XP 2600+
GeForce4 Ti4600 128mb Gfx card
1GB Kingston 2100 DDR RAM (2x 512mb)
AOpen AK7G-1394 Motherboard
2x 80gb 7200rpm hard drives

Now I would just try using the on board graphics card but if I were to do that then when I come to installing the Ti4600 then I would run into the same problem. Is there anything you can suggest to help get through this rather troublesome problem. :Pengy:

Thank you
Sir Eat Alot

Try using the normal onboard card. SuSE has nice configuration tools for X afterwards called Sax2. I'm guessing its due to the Nvidia card and usually the drivers included and the drivers in the installer are different, i.e. I have a intel i810 card and I was forced to install suse in 16 color mode but after I finished installing it was in normal color. Also, I would try a newer version of SuSE as it may have better drivers. Afterward you can install the normal nvidia drivers right from Yast's update tool.
