Smile Install Printer

I want to install HP LaserJet P1005 in my Slackware 12.2
How to do it?

According to its manual, it is supported by Win XP, NT , Vista, etc
There isn't Linux.

Is it sure that I cannot install it and use in my Slackware?

I believe you can add the printer though CUPS which you can get to by typing localhost:731 in your web browser

Google is your friend. Here you go. (It took me 2 seconds to get it; it wouldn't have taken you any longer )

The following should help, but the statement "mostly" means the capabilities of your printer is limited.

http://www.openprinting.org/show_pri...LaserJet_P1005

CUPS web interface is http://localhost:631 not http://localhost:731. I recommend using CUPS' web interface to add and configure printers for a reliable setup.

Smile printer

I don't know what I did, entered localhost and ???
Finally I got the option to print by using my HP LaserJet P1005.

But when I try to print using it, it doesn't start.
Is is possible to re-install it?
Or I have to configure some file?
