Install CUPSwrapper for Canon Pixma MP540 printer in Ubuntu 11.04
I have installed a Canon Pixma MP540 printer in Ubuntu 11.04. The computer recognises the printer and shows it on the list of installed printers.
However, on printing a document the printer does nothing. The printer list of documents printed shows that the document has been printed. My understanding is that a CUPSwrapper has to be installed in order for the printer to actually print a document. I am familiar with the use of a Terminal as I have recently installed a CUPSwrapper for a Brother HL-2242D printer on the same computer running on Ubuntu 11.04. The words given by Brother for their printer were : $ cd Downloads $ sudo dpkg -i --force-all hl2240dlpr-2.1.1-1.i386.deb $ sudo dpkg -i --force-all cupswrapperHL2242D-2.0.4-2.i386.deb What I need are the words to type in a Terminal for a CUPSwrapper for a Canon Pixma MP540 printer on the same computer. |
Have a look at this post. This person has installed it successfully.
