Do you now have an extra disk for computer (like you used to have 1 now you have 2) and you want '/' to span over multiple disks?

Or did you use 'dd' to cope data from an old disk onto a new disk, but want the copied partition to expand out to the whole disk?

My understanding is that this is not possible.

I think the best move is to choose a few directories to mount on the second disk - maybe /home, /opt, var - depending on how your drive is being used.

Then partition disk two into however many partitions you want and move the files over. It's pretty simple to do (though you need to be careful) and there's tutorials both on this forum and all around the web on how to do it.
