iiyama 454 with X makes me feel ill ?

hiya, I have recently switched to slack 9.1 on my desktop machine (from win2k) and I've been suffering ever since from feeling really ill after about five minutes of using it, I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the resolution/refresh rate of my display (a iiyama vm pro 454 19" CRT), thing is, I'm also pretty sure that its set to the same resolution and refresh that it was in windoze, I'm also using the nvidia drivers so I dont think its anything to do with that ? can anyone offer any help ? I'm seriously considering switching back as I just can't stand it

PS. I'm currently running at 1600x1200 @ 85Hz (but have tried @ 75 and 100 and still makes me feel ill), I'm pretty sure that it was actually running at those rates because my monitors little status OSD says so (as did xvidtune)
