IDT ViewXpand VMM1400 family

These chips are used, at least, in the Zotac DisplayPort-to-dual HDMI adapters, the KFA/Galaxy MDT Geforce video cards and if one would find them in the Visiontek Radeon VHDCI cards I wouldn't be surprised, at all. The VMM1300 splits a DP signal into 3 monitors, the VMM1400 splits into 4 monitors and the VMM1402 does two.

Now, I am testing a Zotac splitter, plugged it into a Lenovo T420 Displayport (Intel Sandy Bridge CPU/GPU) , plugged a HDMI plug into HDMI1 and the display said invalid scanning frequency. I have tried a few modelines but no dice. Anyone managed to get Linux working with any of the video splitters (built in or not) above?
