IDK if the graphics are supported in the motherboard.

This motherboard and CPU bundle has great specs for a Windows PC, but can Ubuntu handle HD graphics from an AMD processor? and are there any cheaper alternatives that have HD?

The link does not work for me.

Older ubuntu versions will have problems with the AMD 'A' series CPUs/APUs. Newer versions (11.10, 12.04) should work, you might get some bugs though.

What do you mean by 'HD'?

If you mean 'AMD GPU intergrated onto the CPU, aka 'APU'' yes, there are cheaper versions. The A4-3400 is about as low as you can get with socketed CPUs, to get something cheaper would mean a E-350. Still a dual-core CPU, though slower than the A4-3400, and has a HD 6310 APU.

HD= HD graphics for the hardware

I want to have HD graphics on my ubuntu/linux box. built in graphics on the motherboard to be specific. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I like HD video.

For HD video, you dont have to use a AMD HD APU/GPU. All you need is a monitor with high enough resolution (which can be as low as 1280x720 for 720p) some sort of video output, and enough CPU/GPU/APU power to decode 1280x720 or 1920x1080 video.
