IDE CD burning in kernel 2.6, hold the SCSI emulation.

I installed kernel 2.6.0-test9, which theoretically should support IDE CD burning without SCSI emulation, and I'm trying to get it working. So far, if I fire up xcdroast, k3b, or just do cdrecord /dev/hdd -scanbus, cdrecord hangs. I can't even kill the cdrecord processes with kill -9 (though they'll eventually die.)

What do I need to do to get pure IDE CD burning working? I know I can just set up SCSI emulation with the ide-scsi module, but that's no fun. Kernel 2.6 is supposed to be able to do CD burning without SCSI emulation.

I found a solution!

Turns out my Kenwood 72x True-X CD-ROM drive was screwing things up. I unplugged it, set up my CD writer as my secondary master, and IDE burning worked perfectly.

Oh well, the Kenwood drive was a buggy POS anyways. Maybe I'll replace it with a DVD drive this Christmas.
