ICH6 driver problems
Hey All
Im having some problems installing Fedora Core 3 to my box. Im running the intel i915 chipset on a Gigabyte 8I915-P Duo motherboard.
Its currently got Windoze XP installed on a Software RAID0 array (ICH6-R).
I've been unable to install linux to the RAID array (I knew software raid would be a problem), and have decided to go out and buy another drive. Problem is, that even though its a non-raid drive, Fedora Core 3 doesnt see it on install unless Intel SATA RAID is disabled. When thats disabled though, I cant use windows, and the data on those two disks is useless (being RAID 0 and all). I dont really wanna loose the windows RAID array unless I absolutely have to, as its got a lot on it that would need to be backed up, but being stuck without linux is killing me.
Has anyone got a workaround for this ? I did think of disabling the raid when I want to use linux and enabling it when I want to use windows, but thought that Fedora might try and write to one of the drives in the aray during install and screw the raid up completely.
BTW, does anyone know if theres a way to read Linux software raid from windows ?
