IBM x330 C2T breakout
If anyone out there has one of these cables, could you PLEASE slap a continuity tester on it and tell me which pins are used by the keyboard? I'm trying to get my little linux project running here, but I can't access the system or scsi bios to get started. It'll probably only see a non-usb keyboard for about 5 minutes of its life. Much Thanks!

I can not help directly, I did work for the company for many years before I retired. I would suggest you go here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/si...ageRedirect.do and look the system up, and look for documentation. Almost all systems have a full set of documentation available. Hope this helps. |
Thanks for the tip. I managed to run the remote video thru the service port (serial A) with Hyperterm and set everything up. I never even needed to install a video card into it, or hookup a USB keyboard/mouse! If anyone else nabbed one of these off ebay really cheap, don't worry about spending the 150 bucks on the silly C2T breakout box. It's not needed, just hook up a null modem cable to the serial port and run hyperterm! BTW the bps needs to be set at 57600. For some reason that isn't in the documentation.

Glad you got it going.
