IBM SurePOS 4840 w/ SuSE 10.2 - Touchscreen won't work

Hello folks.

I have an IBM SurePOS model 4840 POS machine I acquired running SuSe 10.2.

It's a point of sale system I have converted into a web-surfing box. Works great with a mouse and such, but it would be reeeealy awesome if I could get the touchscreen to work. Sadly, SuSE doesn't support it out of the box, and I can't find anyone on the internet that has tried to make it work. I was wondering if anyone knows of a driver or how to configure it or something.

I've searched everywhere, and since IBM has been moving stuff around, most of the links I find pointing to help are dead.

Now, I know the touchscreen works under XP perfectly, but we all know windows needs to go die in a fire sometimes. :)

Any help/guidance would be great.
Thanks again!

have you tried the elo Linux touch screen drivers ?

I couldn't tell you if your screen is by elo or not, but they are one of the most common touch screen manufacturers..

Maybe go through the touch screen documentation first..

Now I'm stuck....

Well, I downloaded the drivers, and started following the directions in the readme file.

I copied the stuff to the /elo folder, then went on to start building the driver...

Seemed pretty straightforward, but now I've run into this, and don't know how to fix it..

I have no freakin' clue what to do now...
