I want to build a customised MAC OS X desktop
What motherboard should I buy?
Intel CPU with built-in GPU is it ok? I want something that the MAC OS X will support with its drivers, especially sound, VGA and LAN. Please help. |
Weren't you back to Windows? ;)
I would recommend to research which hardware (chipset, CPU, GPU) is currently used in Macs and to buy that. You are aware that you violate Apple's license for MacOS X with running it on non-Apple hardware? |
I am in Malaysia, we don't care about Apple.
Just do what we are pleased. I want to dual boot MAC OSX with Windows. |
Hello Friends,
Apple has done a great job making sure Mac OS X is aesthetically pleasing with its Aqua theme, exciting desktop images and clear, eye-catching icons. Yet out of the box, your Mac looks like every other. To really make it your own, you must personalise it, tailoring it to suit yourself on both a practical and cosmetic level. Change the desktop, use custom icons, install your own alert sounds, and a whole lot more. If your computer's motherboard was designed for Intel processors, and was manufactured in 2010-2012, there is a pretty good chance that it will work with Mac OS X. Motherboards made before 2010 are a lot trickier to work with, and may not be worth the effort. Thanks And Regards. Steven Arnold |

I want people to share experience with me,
actually I want to put MAC OS X, Windows, Linux all together. :D I believe Windows should come first, install EasyBCD to maintain your bootloader, then Linux, lastly MAC OSX. |
Technically this isn't the wrong forum, since MacOS X is at least a BSD derivative. Although this forum is named Linux - Hardware I think that BSD questions have its place here.
What doesn't have its place here are questions that violate the LQ rules. You want to violate the license that is tied to the software you want to install. This is piracy and we won't help you with that here. In short: If you want to use MacOS X buy an Apple computer. Case (and thread) closed. |
