i wanna install intel 1963/965 graphic card drivers in RHEL5, help me!


hi, i am new, but in our company i have to use RHEL5 on a HP dx2708, the graphic card is intel 965
i've already read the instructions from the site where intel provided open source of drivers.
but how to install the driver?
who can tell me ${XORG_DIR} means what?
generally which folder is the default install folder of xorg?

Support for the 965 (the intel_drv) is already built into the kernel and the driver package xorg-x11-drv-i810. Your query is answered by having a look at the package itself, for example the 32-bit version of the xorg-x11-drv-i810 package;

How to do what??
Install the driver........

yum install xorg-x11-drv
rpm -Uvh xorg-x11-drv-i810*.rpm

Configure the driver..............

system-config-display --help
system-config-display --reconfig --set-driver=intel_drv --set-depth=24
