Welcome to LQ!!

To get "fast help" here, you need to give complete information. For starters, we would need to know what your modem is. Try "lspci" and "dmesg" to get info on the modem.

Have you tried configuring with whatever is in the setup menus? If so, tell us what specific problems you found.

XavierP 07-12-2008 08:24 AM

What is the make and model of your card?

You'll have to use PPP most likely for dial-up under Linux.
I have found a couple of useful guides for you:

BSTU.UOK 08-15-2008 07:43 PM

if any other device that u r seeing is need a driver plz tell me wht and how......thx

dasy2k1 08-16-2008 04:16 PM

i think the prog you want is kppp but im not sure

should be there in the suse menu if not use yast to install it form your dvd

PS if you enclose your outputs in
and
then it makes it much easier to read

From your last post, the significant part in red:

02:04.0 Modem: SILICON Laboratories Intel 537 Winmodem (rev 04) (prog-if 00 [Generic])

The modem is designed specifically for use with windows only. You could go to the Silicon website to see if they have Linux drivers or Google winmodem drivers Linux.

Try http://linmodems.org/ to see if the card has support
