I have made it!

Finally I have installed my Suse Linux 8.2 operating system!
I did not realize, that I can set bios to boot from the CD drive.
Tell me friends I see all these "packages", can a person who sees a cool program on the Internet or on CD install it in their Linux or is it involved and difficult. And secondly is the dos and Linux filing system compatible? Can I download on my dos based Internet to my hard drive a Linux program, and install it in Linux?
Sincerely: little richard
