I don't get my webcam to work
Hi everybody,
I have a D-Link DSB C310 (usb of course) and I am using Fedora Core I (with 2.4.22-1.2115.nptl kernel). I downloaded and compiled ov11 driver and here is what I've done to try to get it to work:
-videodev loaded: yes
-ov511 loaded: yes
videodev 8288 0 [ov511]
- ls /dev/deveo0: Ok
-permissions ok on /dev/video0?: yes
-usb-hcd and usbcore loaded? yes
-usb correctly detected? yes, look below for /proc/bus/usb/devices outp
ut for camera:
But when I try to run xawtv I get:
can't open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such device
v4l: open /dev/video0: No such device
no video grabber device available
[root@localhost webcam]#
and If i type v4l-conf I get:
4l-conf: using X11 display :0.0
dga: version 2.0
mode: 1024x768, depth=24, bpp=32, bpl=4096, base=0xd0000000
can't open /dev/video0: No such device
So, any suggestion? it is really importan for me to get this webcam to work, if I have to change the linux dist I'll do it without any problem but please help me ...
Thank you
