I can't get my mouse to work in XFree86

OK, I got Linux to load to my system and everything else seems to work. My mouse doesn't work in XFree86. There is no XFree86Config on my system so I don't know how to fix this one. My mouse is a Logitech, connected with a USB connection. Right now it is just plugged into the back of my keyboard, and the keyboard is conected to the computer via a USB connection, so it should work, it worked fine under windows. I tried a few things, but no luck, any suggestions???

Slack 10 uses xorg not XFree86. You can modify xorg.conf manually or run xorgconfig, just make sure you know the specs of video card and other hardware. To manually do it, go into the /etc/X11 directory and edit xorg.conf. Not sure about the usb mouse plugged into keyboard. You might want to make sure hotplug is enabled, if not just run pkgtool and rerun the hotplug script, and that the correct USB lines are uncommented in rc.modules, I am not totally sure about the USB stuff though.
