Hi there, I have problem with the sound systems alsa and artsd which I cant't get to run.


The soundcard works fine when using aplay, but the alsa daemon doesn't start and when running X also I can't start the sound system Artsd. from the audio setup in KDE as root.

I'm now using Slamd64 12.0 with kernel 2.6.23.1-smp. In Slamd64 11.0 sound worked perfectly for me. Shouldn't alsa daemon start up at boot time, when sound playing with aplay works fine?
