Ubuntu 7.10 x64 configured my sound on install (integrated Intel ICH9 Realtek HD Audio), and it worked, but was faint. I followed these instructions (
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto), but the directory /proc/asound/card0/ didn't exist, and the end result was just dead sound. How can I get my sound back to at least the way that it was upon install?
