I've got a good question

Just got a free Gateway Solo 2300 (Older Laptop) that doesnt have a CD Rom drive and has windows 95 on it (That I want to get rid of). It does have a floppy drive, now for the question!! How do I get Linux (any version) on to this computer??? I do have a dongle for my wired network & a floppy drive like I said before.
Thanks,
Wavz

I know Debian and Slackware can do installs over network... Don't know how though, presumably you'll need a boot floppy. Someone's got to know how around here.

You will want to check what your specs will allow you to run, but here is how to do a Debian Net install.

You're architecture would be i386

Pentium ones along with AMD K-5/6's are i386, and Pentium 2's, Pentium Pros, and AMD Athlons, are i686.

But if it's an intel or intel compatible, than the architecture doesn't really matter since all the i's are backwards/forwards compatible.
