Hybrid Graphics/AMD

;)Hi:
I am currently reading and learning about graphics, chipsets and how other components and processes work.
Reference:
"Upgrading And Repairing PC's By: Scott Mueller

Also I am trying to learn more to help someone solve a problem with a Hybrid Graphics A8-3420m/6550m AMD Radeon. (purple screen)

Perhaps there is another way to be able to continue to use the integrated chip instead of falling back into an older version of the kernel (safe mode)

I went to www.radeon.com but the site only offers technology and consulting-
I found:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HybridGraphics
Didn't find a solution there either in regard to the AMD Radeon
Anyone have an ideas of what I could google?

By default, the integrated GPU should work just fine if there are no proprietary drivers installed for the AMD GPU. No need to use an older version of the kernel.

Adam:
Thank You for clarifying that info.
If the person I am helping does have proprietary drivers installed that that is obviously his/her issue....I'm thinking-
