hsfconfig and kernel source problem

Hello.
I have debian lenny 2.6.22 kernel.
And i have dell latitude d830 which has hsf modem.
I have used a lot of drivers for it(e.g. Dell driver, luxiant driver and etc.) but all of them have trouble with my kernel source. When I use dell driver it prompts me that it cannot find the kernel source, but obviously it can! because when i change my kernel version in /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.22 (which i have symbolic links to it via /usr/src/linux and /lib/module/2.6.22???/build) it prompts me that the kernel version doesn't match. after that when I give it the source of kernel, it starts working but after that says HDA modules are not compiled and HDA is not supported because it needs 2.6.15 kernel version or later. but my kernel is 2.6.22 . And it doesn't find my modem. so I think that my modem is HDA and modules for it are not compiled. but as you see it's an obvious wrong error. And when I use other kernels they say that they cannot find the kernel source and they have nowhere to enter the kernel source path.
So what should I do to solve my modem's problem.
I thank you a lot if you help me.
