HP1020 switches itself off
Hello
I have an odd problem here. I am going through "printer hell" and I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel.
I have an HP1020 set up on a Kubuntu Dapper box. I compiled the driver from foo2zjs.rkkda.com and all seemed well. Another box (Debian) shares the printer. Both computers are in an office environment.
I received a report yesterday afternoon (the printer had been set up for 3 hours) that it had stopped printing from the second box (which uses kprinter). I checked in Kubuntu's system settings and the printer was "off" ----- I restarted it and a backlog of print jobs spewed forth! I put it down to bad luck that this had happened.
Unfortunately, it has happened twice today. There is no pattern and I cannot find any kind of trigger for this behaviour. The HP1020 just stops printing because it is switched off on the cups server.
Am I missing something?
Cheers
