hp storageworks dat72 tape not detected in rhel4 AS version


hi all,

i am having hp DL 580 server with RHEL 4 advanced version installed.
when i am giving a "dmesg' command i am not able to see the hp storage works dat72 tape drive.
please suggest me possible solutions as i am a new guy in this field.

Is this the USB tape drive? I'm interested in how linux handles USB tape devices myself. linux-usb.org states it "should work" but I haven't found any witnesses.

Does it show up in 'lsusb' ?

Try modprobe -v usb-storage
